Why doesn’t Obama push to reform government health care programs before messing with ours?

An example: poor families have SCHIPP, Medicaid, AND WIC for their health care. All different eligibility requirements, all separate administrations running the programs, funding coming from both the state and the federal government (two funding sources one program, more paperwork billing to the correct source {fed or state}) . One idea: giving states block grants to provide ONE program to help poor families. The state can come up with their own program and guidelines. This may just spring up some creative ways to help families afford health care. and hopefully, reduce the cost of health care. and a bonus: reduced government means more money available to the people.

Or here’s a better idea…

Tell the Federal government to stick to what is constitutionally required of it rather than telling the states and the people what they MUST do with their lives and governments.

In the many many readings of the Constitution, I’ve failed to see where providing health care to the masses is included. The Federal government was created to answer TO the people/states. Not make the people/states SUBMIT to its will.
