I am a college student and do not have much money to spend on food (my books this semester alone were over $ 700!) – Do you have any idea of creative and healthy recipes, plus the standard mac and cheese, pasta, ramen, etc?

I hope you able to use some of the following recipes. They are some of our favorites, and they are cheap and easy to fix. If the quantities are too large for their needs measurements are easily reduced in size. Enjoy! MUSHROOM MEATLOAF Lipton onion 1 env. Add onion, stirring constantly, until soft but not brown. Add flour and cook one minute, stirring constantly. Add broth all at once and whisk until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and simmer. Reduce heat to medium low and cook, stirring frequently until thickened min about 10. Invert the pan contents onto a plate. Bubble Cut and Squeak into segments and serve with sauce. Makes 6 servings *********************************************** * Grilled Short Ribs 2 lbs. short ribs, cut into 2 "pieces small amounts of salt 1 / 4 cup chopped onion 1 / 4 cup ketchup 1 / 4 cup water 2 T. lemon juice fresh 2 tablespoon sugar 1 T. mustard Brown T. 1 / 8 tsp. salt 1 T. Makes 6 servings. ********************************** LAZY LASAGNA 4-oz. 2 cup mushrooms may mozzarella cheese, grated 10-oz. pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed 1 egg 1 box lasagna noodles, uncooked 1 1 / 2 box. small cottage cheese in 32-oz jar spaghetti sauce juice Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. drain mushrooms in a measuring cup. The mushrooms in a medium-size bowl. Squeeze spinach juice, add dry yeast to the liquid. If necessary, add water to make 1 c. liquid. Set aside. Makes 12 servings. ************************************ IMPOSSIBLE LASAGNA PIE 1 / 2 c. creamed cottage cheese 6-oz. tomato paste 1 / 4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated 1 pound ground beef dish, gold and drained 1 cup milk 1 tsp. oregano leaves, crushed 2 / 3 C. Bisquick 1 / 2 tsp. basil leaves, crushed 2 eggs 1 tsp. salt 1 / 4 tsp. Preheat pepper oven to 400 degrees F. Grease 10 "pie plate. Cottage cheese and Parmesan cheese layer on the plate. In a medium bowl, mix together baking, milk and eggs until blended, pour in a pan. Bake 30-35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 1-2 minutes more or until melted. Serve with lettuce, tomato and sour cream, if desired. Serves 7. ************************************ Taco Salad with rice, white rice, cooked (keep hot) 1 lb. ground 1 pkg. Taco Bell Taco Seasoning Mix 1 can ranch style beans 1 can Rotel tomatoes grated cheese Romaine lettuce, tear a bite size 1 med. the onion, ranch dressing, sour cream or tortilla chips salsa Prepare taco seasoning mix and ground spices such as package directs. Add Ranch style beans and Rotel tomatoes and simmer until all ingredients are hot. Gather the ingredients in the dish this way: rice, then mix meat, add the grated cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, and above all with either ranch dressing, sour cream, salsa or all three. Choose your favorite tortilla chips and dig!
