Family Health History
How can you find out about your family’s health history if you were adopted?
I was born in a different country, and I was adopted and stuff….
First of all check all of the adoption papers for record numbers. Then get an attorney, yes you may need one depending upon the jurisdiction you’re in.
Check on your birth areas current adoption rules that pertain to access to data. In some places, birth records are supposed to include known health issues in the biological families background.
I would ask for all data that you’re allowed to have access too. Who knows they might have enough information for you get by with.
If its a potential medical issue you’re worried about then by all means pursue it with a DNA test and an official inquiry submitted to the areas offices. I wish you the best in this.
