Why are people referring to Obama as a socialist?

I keep hearing people talk about Obama being a socialist, and that he wants to turn America into a socialist country…I haven’t heard anything from his speeches that signifies any socialist views. And correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Bush bailing out companies being a socialist government? I mean we already have government programs in place that work, granted are not perfect….like Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare, Education, etc etc…Personally I think if anything should be a right is health care….We all are able to get a free education, but we can’t go see a doctor without paying out the a.ss. What’s wrong with that picture??? And I know many will say… by law they have to treat you in an emergency room, whether you have insurance or not…but they are only obligated to stabilize you, then they send you home…They obviously don’t provide the same level of care.

The American free market economy kept failing in cycles previous to 1929; we only gained stability and long-term prosperity after FDR’s great Socialist reforms and New Deal legislation. We have to pretend that never happened and that Social Security, Medicare etc are minor ‘aberrations’ because the real carnivores at the top of the food chain (that spokesman Bush speaks for) want maximum exploitation for minimum return. If we understand and come to accept that we have lived in a Socialist country for generations now our rulers are terrified of the consequences.
If you study the ‘economic Miracle’ of Germany from 1945 when it was a hole in the ground you will find that under the most Socialist government in Europe they went back to number 3 economy in the world in far less time than it took for the US to supersede the British Empire in power and GDP w. no Socialism back then.
