I have to choose a theme for a government document on public policy. Does anyone have any ideas?

The item must be recent, preferably in the last decade or so. I really want to write the article on a subject that is outside the box, not something that is overused, such as action yes or pending health bill in Congress. I am interested in science and math, so anything related to economic, scientific, etc would be a good subject for me. This paper is due in a week and act as my final. Any idea I can get would be greatly appreciated.

How About Federal Reserve, which create large numbers.
