Pregnant independent contractor special educator, can I receive disability if I’m on my husbands insurance?

I’m currently an independent contractor and work as a special education teacher for young children with autism. I am covered under my husbands health insurance, but what happens when I get pregnant. Is there any way to receive some type of social security or disability when I can no longer work due to the pregnancy?
I live in New York State (Long Island to be exact)

generally not.. payment for lost time is generally provided by short term disability.. then long term disability insurance.. if you don’t have any you aren’t covered… check with your insurance company… but generally pregnancy is NOT considered a disability.
