Need an individual health plan in FL that covers mental health.?
I need an individual health plan in Florida. Am looking for one as inexpensive as Vista Health but which also covers mental health services/prescriptions. Does anyone know of one like this? Seems a challenge. Am with Vista now but cannot get medication covered with them. They do not offer mental health coverage, even for a larger fee.
I will ask that you do NOT answer this question by offering YOUR services as an agent. I have them crawling all over me, to begin with, because of posting a question about this on a Web forum. I only want to know if anyone knows the NAME OF AN INSURANCE COMPANY, proper, that has that type of coverage. Male, 20 yrs old. Non-smoker. Excellent health.

As a health insurance agent in Florida, I know that many different insurance carriers cover mental health services BUT with limitations and yearly dollar maximums.
My suggestion would be to contact the insurance company directly to inquire about individual coverage and the benefit limitations placed on mental and nervous coverage.
Try Blue Cross Blue Shield at bcbsfl.com or directly at 800-239-4280 (# taken from website). My experience with them has been great. Again, there will likely be a limitation based on the plan chosen, but it may be suitable for your needs.
