Home Health Nursing Care

How does home health nursing work?
I’m a RN with 2 years MedSurg experience and was looking into switching over to working for a home health agency. I just had a few questions.
My main question: Is it difficult to guarantee that I will get the number of hours I want (about 18/week)?
Also, what kind of qualifications do home health agencies normally look for in a nurse? Are there any special skills they like to see on a resume? (wound vacs, PICC line care, etc.)?
Thanks!
PICC line care will be done by the “high tech” nurse or IV nurse. Well, PICC line is really nothing and dressing is easy to be changed.
Most agencies ask for one year in Med/Surg. Based on your info, you will be OK!
Anyhow, there is no guarantee hours…if you are a staff nurse, you must agree to work 9 to 5. Of course, no nurses will stay in the field for 8 hours long. In NYC, it is 25 patients/week and it is a 9 to 5 job. Good luck!
