6 month old lab has runny eye?

My 6 month old black lab has had runny eyes since we got him. The vet we take him to (he was last seen in october and was given a clean bill of health) never commented on his eyes being runny. Now only one eye is runny and has recently started getting slightly red. Rowdy (my lab) is not bothered by it at all. No scratching, no whining, nothing. I’m wondering if this is something I should be worried about. Like I said he’s had runny eyes (no redness) since we got him now it’s only the one eye and it’s slightly red.
Thanks for all your responses. I think I’ll try the salt water solution see if it helps.

bathe eye daily with a strong solution of warm salt water,use cotton wool balls
