The problem of prescription oxycodone Abuse

As you know, abuse of prescription drugs has become a major problem in the United States. For example, in 2005 Monitoring the Future Survey of high school students showed that abuse of OxyContin increased among 12th graders by 40 percent in 3 years. OxyContin is one of many generic names of medicines that include the drug oxycodone.

When used as prescribed, drugs, like OxyContin and Percocet (which also contains oxycodone) provide much needed pain relief for cancer patients and people recovering from surgery. When used however incorrectly, OxyContin earns its nickname "hillbilly heroin, using heroin production as the ultimate in user and could in many cases cheaper than heroin itself. Therefore, oxycodone, or OxyContin test, developed – in response to a growing problem that requires a solution.

The Difference Between opiates, opioids and oxycodone

This leads to some structural differences.

If you are a member of a police department, a concerned parent or friend, it is important to have the right information at hand to make a decision about how to deal with drug abuse. If you suspect drug abuse and want to test for it, be sure to choose a test that the objectives of the drug on hand. It could think that a drug test can detect opioid oxycodone, and that opioids in general, and oxycodone are very similar. This is not the case when it comes to drug testing of origin and whether a careful shopper will be more successful in finding oxycodone.
