The problem of prescription oxycodone Abuse

As you know, abuse of prescription drugs has become a major problem in the United States. For example, in 2005 Monitoring the Future Survey of high school students showed that abuse of OxyContin increased among 12th graders by 40 percent in 3 years. OxyContin is one of many generic names of medicines that include the drug oxycodone.

When used as prescribed, drugs, like OxyContin and Percocet (which also contains oxycodone) provide much needed pain relief for cancer patients and people recovering from surgery. When used however incorrectly, OxyContin earns its nickname "hillbilly heroin, using heroin production as the ultimate in user and could in many cases cheaper than heroin itself. Therefore, oxycodone, or OxyContin test, developed – in response to a growing problem that requires a solution.

Before the test was OxyContin, there were 98% accurate way for a buyer urine test drug test for oxycodone-based drugs, although they have much in common with the opium and heroin, drugs that can be tested at once.

The Difference Between opiates, opioids and oxycodone

To understand why oxycodone needs its own home drug test, first we must examine how drugs are classified interest here. They are all opioids. Opioids are chemicals that work on opioid receptors in the brain. Endorphins, for example, are opioids produced naturally by the body. Morphine, Opium, heroin, oxycodone and hydrocodone (Vicodin) are all opioids as well. They are so similar, but not everyone can be detected by the screen of the same drug. Why?

FDA approved the drug in urine tests for opiates that are in the market specifically made to detect morphine and specifically heroin. Evidence of opiate that has a level of 300 nanograms per milliliter of cut is the one who is looking for morphine-based drugs, while the opiate test that has a level of 2000 nanograms per milliliter is looking to cut heroin and opium. Morphine does not have much in common with oxycodone, as both are opioids, but morphine can be found naturally, whereas oxycodone can not. Oxycodone should be done in a laboratory. This leads to some structural differences.

Although a drug test for opiates in urine can be collected as morphine, heroin, and so on, depending on the cut-off can only be detected oxycodone / OxyContin in large numbers – Levels of overdose. So a new design was called to address the problem of prescription drug abuse.

The Vicodin / Testing OxyContin

The same technology used to create evidence of other drugs in urine is used to test for oxycodone. You can pick up OxyContin, Vicodin (acetaminophen and hydrocodone fact, a drug very similar to oxycodone), Percocet and Hydrocodone, hydromorphone, oxycodone or based on drugs with an accuracy 98%. It is much more precisely which of these drugs was available with either versions of the drug urine test for opiates. Depending on the metabolism and other factors, oxycodone in the urine 2-5 hours after it is used and disappears from the urine 2-4 days later. Oxycodone new evidence of specific drugs Oxycodone can be found in urine at the level of 100 nanograms per milliliter, a very small amount.
