I have to do a interview with a health care professional (for example, a nurse, doctor, x-ray tech…) If you?

are a health care professional and will allow me to interview you, please answer the following questions:

What are the educational, licensing or certification requirements for your profession?

o What is the scope of your practice?

o What are your profession’s primary responsibilities

I am a RT(R) which mean I am a Radiologic Technologist Radiographer otherwise known as an x-ray tech. The education two become an x-ray tech is usually two years sometimes obtaining an associates degree or like myself I have a certificate of completion from the program I went to. The classes that I had to take was Medical Terminology, Anatomy Phisology, Radiologic Physics, Radiation Protection, Pathology, Radiographic Processing, Technique, Postioning, I think that is everything. After completion of a program you have to take an examination with the ARRT it is called the registry and it is a 200 question exam that you have to pass with at least a 75%. You also have to get licensed by the state that you plan to work it with the state health department.

So what I do is take x-rays of bones, abdomens, chest, and we also do contrast studies. We must take care of patients from all over the hospital. Try to use low doses or ionizing radiation. We also have to go to surgery and we do x-rays up there. We do all kinds of things.

High tech health care: ASYRA, biomeridian stress testing.
